Getting Around New Zealand

This term, Room 10 has been learning to locate and plot New Zealand places on a Google Map. We have also been reading about New Zealand current events and plotting where the events took place. We have also been learning about some New Zealand authors and plotting places that our guided reading text took us.

We Think, We Try, We Succeed!

Room 11, 2015 have got off to a flying start in our team building challenge. We worked together in teams to build the highest, free-standing structure to hold a giant marshmallow at the top. All teams displayed creativity and ingenuity when thinking of  a plan for their structure. They also worked co-operatively to build their structure with great success. When things didn't work out so well, the teams didn't give up and came up with another plan. If you have looked on our Te Marae page, you will know we have been learning our pepeha. We have used the Tellagami app to present them. We are so proud of how they have turned out. We would appreciate your comments on what we have done well and things we could improve on.

Room 11 has been keen to settle into term 3, we have been setting our goals after reflecting on our classroom and what we would like our classroom to be like. 

Pizza in Rome

Oceana, just for you. While we were in Rome we stayed in a small village about an hour away from the city. For dinner we just had to have pizza just the way the Italians do! What are the differences to our pizzas? 

 






Even 2000 years ago the Romans had take away food. In the ruins of Herculaneum archeologists found food stalls. What type of foods did they eat back then? I bet they didn't have McDonalds or KFC!
